| SAREX 2006
Division 16 will host search and rescue exercises (SAREX) on Lake Fort Gibson on 9-11 June 2006. Every exercise will be specific to skills we have learned and need to practice to become efficient SAR units. This event will be open to all members of Divisions 5 and 15 as well as Division 16. All events are being developed in a manner different than what we have done in the past and will be guaranteed to stimulate and enhance your skill development. The nighttime SAR cases, in particular, will be more challenging and educational than any past nighttime exercises. There will be something for everyone at this SAREX. Raft-ups will be scheduled for those desiring a less active participation level. Communications your thing? Or do you want/need practice on the radio? A communications command post will be set up at Taylor Ferry Marina where you can elect to hone your skills while contributing to the success of the SAREX. Everyone will be able to participate in all the fellowship activities. ALL members from the Southern area are invited to attend whether you are BCQP-qualified or not. The more vessels we have for this SAREX, the better. We need at least eight (8) vessels in order to do all the exercises. That means there must be at least six (6) vessels trailered from other lakes/areas. More vessels will make the SAREX even better. Overnight berthing will be arranged for all trailered facilities. The Marina Motel at SAREX Central can accommodate many attendees and there are other motels in reasonably close proximity to the Marina. The links below will give you all the detailed information you need to start making your plans to attend SAREX 06. Watch this site for updates on specific items as planning progresses.
